My story
About my journey
My career began as an Exercise Physiologist working within corporate health promotion and wellbeing program development. As an Exercise Physiologist I was trained to tackle health and wellbeing issues from a holistic, whole of body, perspective. This holistic perspective helped me to progress from roles working at an individual and local wellbeing program development level, into team management and project delivery positions with a focus on strategic wellbeing and cultural improvements.
After working in corporate environments for 15-years, I experienced life events which changed my perspective on how I wanted to spend my time. I completed a Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and a Master of Counselling, and my focus has shifted to providing specialised individual counselling support.
With my own personal experience with infertility, IVF, miscarriage, returning to the workplace after maternity leave and significant injury, juggling family, career changes, workplace conflict, bullying and harassment, I have a unique understanding for women struggling with any, or all, of these challenging life events.
I have a particular drive to provide counselling support to those experiencing fertility challenges, IVF, or miscarriage, as this can be an all-consuming, isolating and grief riddled part of one’s life. I strongly believe that empathetic professional support and a safe therapeutic space to explore and process the highs and lows inherent to infertility and IVF is an important outlet for women during this journey, and to support positive mental wellbeing beyond the experience.
Everyone’s story and needs are different, so I approach counselling from a holistic person-centred and solution-focused orientation and apply approaches and strategies which are best suited to the individual needs.

As a counsellor, I believe it is a privilege to be invited into a person’s life, and to hear their stories, challenges, and achievements. Therefore, offering people safety, dignity, respect, and confidentiality is of upmost importance to my counselling process.
